Alona Del Rosario, Legal Advocate

Alona Del Rosario has been with UMOM since summer 2008, where she started as the Family Services Coordinator at Watkins Emergency Overflow Shelter. For the past three years she has served as the Legal Advocate at the agency's domestic violence shelter, working alongside a team of advocates and a case manager to provide victims of domestic violence with safe shelter and supportive services. Alona works to enhance victims' safety and assists them as they navigate the criminal and family justice systems. Some examples of working with victims include obtaining protection orders, exercising victims' rights, and providing court accompaniment. She is a graduate of Northern Arizona University and completed her master's degree in criminal justice at Arizona State University in 2008.

Karen Fletcher, Chief Development Officer

Phyllis Swaglin, GED Tutor Volunteer

Phyllis and Rose are retired teachers and Bill is a retired medical social worker. He does all our copy work, keeps our supplies up and distributes works to clients. Phyllis and Rose were nuns in the Toledo Ursulines where they taught. Both got degrees from Mary Manse College. After the convent Rose got her Masters in early childhood education with a specialty in Language arts from Ohio State University. Phyllis chose to work with a graduate program from the National Science Foundation with 4 grants from The University of Nebraska, Colgate University, Hope College and Syracuse University. These grants were for work with the reluctant learner and individualized programs in math. This is by far the most fulfilling and rewarding volunteer program we have ever been involved in!

Kristina Oniszko, Resident Services Manager

Kristina Oniszko is the Resident Services Manager for UMOM New Day Centers Next Step Housing Program. Kristina oversees all Program Services offered at the five UMOM permanent housing communities and contracted tenant based services at three additional sites. She graduated with a Bachelor in Nonprofit and Public Administration in 2009 and will complete her Masters in Higher and Postsecondary Education in the spring of 2012. Kristina has worked with low-income and at-risk families for five years.

Allison Ghan, Program Coordinator, Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF)

Allison coordinates UMOMs new Supportive Services for Veteran Families program, and works with a team of case managers to provide services to low-income, veteran families in the community. She graduated from Arizona State University in 2007 with a masters degree in social work and has worked with homeless adults and families for the past six years.

Dawn Meadows, Director of Support Services

Dawn Meadows is the Director of Support Services for UMOM New Day Centers Emergency, Transitional and Domestic Violence Programs. Dawn manages team members who provide advocacy, pre-residential services, domestic violence programs as well as employment and education services. Dawn has worked with domestic violence victims and at-risk families for 13 years.

Susan Gitell, Career Development Coordinator

Susan Gitell is the Career Development Coordinator at UMOM New Day Centers. Sue provides and coordinates career development services to UMOM New Day Centers’ clients, helping them create both short term and long term career goals. Sue works collaboratively with administrators, case management, and counselors at UMOM to ensure the delivery of career development assistance. Additionally, Sue focuses on facilitating linkages and maintaining relationships with business/industry, postsecondary institutions, and community organizations to support clients who are transitioning to GED, vocational training, college and, ultimately, employment.

Chela Sullivan, Housing Director

Chela Sullivan is the Housing Director for UMOM New Day Centers Next Step Housing Program. Chela manages four case managers who work with UMOM residents to obtain permanent, affordable housing as well as the community through programs like Rapid ReHousing and eviction prevention. Chela also oversees all Program Services offered at the five UMOM Next Step Housing communities. Chela has worked with homeless and at-risk families for ten years and is an Arizona State University graduate with a Master of Nonprofit Studies.

She serves on the Continuum of Care, the Board of Directors for the Arizona Coalition to End Homelessness, and as the Vice President of the National Association for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth.

David Hepburn, Chief Housing Officer

Kim Williams, RN, Wellness Center Coordinator

Nurse Kim has been a registered nurse for 17 years and has spent her entire career at Phoenix Children's Hospital. She has been the Wellness Center Coordinator at UMOM New Day Centers for over two years. Nurse Kim loves her job, especially getting to know the families and seeing the healthy results of her many wellness programs.
