FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE:

We are dedicated to promoting the safety and success of domestic violence survivors and encourage you to access and share these resources.

  • For Shelter: Call CONTACS at 602-263-8900 or 800-799-7739. CONTACS, a 7 day, 24-hour English/ Spanish bilingual hotline, connects people in crisis with domestic violence and homeless shelters throughout Maricopa County. After a few questions concerning their situation, callers are connected to an appropriate emergency, transitional, or domestic violence shelter with available beds. The caller can be directly connected with UMOM Domestic Violence Shelter upon request.
  • For Information About Domestic Violence: The Arizona Coalition Against Domestic Violence website @ http://www.azcadv.org/ includes information about how to know if you're in an abusive relationship, safety planning, how to help a domestic violence victim, available resources and more.

FOR IMMEDIATE OVERNIGHT SHELTER NEEDS:

UMOM operates an overnight shelter for women and families, in conjunction with the City of Phoenix. To access shelter:

  • Call Contacts at 602-263-8856
  • Contacts will call the shelter directly to determine if there is space available
  • If space is available and they are accepted Contacts will give them our pick up location and times

FOR OTHER LONGER-TERM SHELTER NEEDS:

FORECLOSURE ASSISTANCE:

The Arizona Department of Housing has partnered with several agencies throughout the state to help individuals and families facing foreclosure. Community Information & Referral hosts Arizona's Mortgage Foreclosure Hotline to help people through the foreclosure process and possibly keep their homes. The number to the Mortgage Foreclosure Hotline is 877-448-1211.
