The headline is grim, but things are looking up now that Jane* and her family have found shelter at UMOM.
Family homelessness continues to be a hidden epidemic in our community. With housing costs rising and eviction rates expected to rise, the need is greater than ever.
Jackson Fonder, UMOM's CEO, was interviewed as part of the story of Jane* and her family.

A Grateful Heart & Positive Attitude - Tess’s Story
For her whole adult life, Tess* worked two jobs. She successfully supported herself and raised four kids.
After facing physical health challenges, she could no longer sustain the same grueling pace. A 46-day stay at Halle Women’s Center helped her find stability again.
At UMOM, we work to make homelessness rare, brief, and non-recurring and Tess’s story is a wonderful example of how a short stay in shelter, supported by partnership with a case manager, can make a big difference in someone’s life.
