The primary reason for homelessness for 1/3 of UMOM residents in the Emergency Shelter Program was job loss.
Thank you for you interest in volunteering at UMOM!
At UMOM New Day Centers, volunteers are the heart of our mission as we strive to end the cycle of homelessness and build a bridge to self-sufficiency. We exist entirely through the generosity of individuals within the community. Through the giving of their time and talents, volunteers help homeless men, women and children find hope in the future.
All volunteers must attend a 90-min orientation to volunteer at UMOM. Orientation covers the following: a tour of the facility, review the policies and the procedures of UMOM and the opportunity to learn about the volunteer opportunities in greater detail.
Any volunteers under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian accompany them to orientation.
We encourage you to register online for the orientation session that best suits your schedule. We have limited capacity in each session to ensure an enjoyable and informative experience for everyone.
Please bring a completed one-page volunteer application and two completed one-page reference checklist. Click here to download the application and reference checklist.
**Any court-order community service hour volunteers MUST be pre-approved by the Volunteer Coordinator before attending a volunteer orientation.**
