Phase I of our HELP (Housing, Employment, Learning and Purpose) Capital Campaign successfully raised $18 million.

Watkins Basic Needs Shelter

This unique, year-round program is designed specifically to serve up to 120 homeless single women, as well as 20 families every night. As a result of this critical program, we are able to provide the most vulnerable with a warm, safe place to sleep and a healthy meal.

The City of Phoenix assists with case management and other supportive services. UMOM continues to manage and operate this program which receives additional support, both volunteer and financial, from many faith-based and community organizations.

During the 2010-2011 fiscal year, this program:

  • Served 1.093 single women and 1,355 family members
  • Provided over 60,000 bed nights
