We know how to end homelessness in our community. With your help, we can make it happen.

Our programs are built around a simple formula: jobs + housing = ending homelessness. We work hand-in-hand with every person we serve to solve that formula alongside them. From emergency shelter to affordable housing, UMOM offers a full slate of vital services, rooted in a foundation of trust and proactive support.

Understanding Family Homelessness

The issue is unmistakable. The numbers say that across America, more and more people are sleeping on the streets. But we don’t need numbers to tell us what we see in our neighborhoods every day. It’s not just folks who suffer from severe mental illnesses or addictions, or who choose to drift from place to place. Now more than ever before, it’s everyday families who have fallen on hard times. Incomes have fallen, housing prices are up, and getting help is a bureaucratic nightmare. Whether it’s because of lost income, lack of education, addictions, or something else entirely, we believe every family deserves a chance to rebuild their lives.

We hold them accountable to their goals, and we hold our programs accountable to real results.

When we tuck our kids into bed, brush our teeth, set the alarm clock for the next day, and settle in for the night, we are experiencing a peace that many of our neighbors have lost. UMOM exists to restore that peace: to give every family safety, stability, and hope for the future.

Delicious Food with a Purpose

Located on the UMOM Campus, Helpings Café and Catering offers food with a purpose. The menu includes specialty coffee, freshly baked pastries, and delicious breakfast and lunch items prepared in-house by our talented team. 

More than just a café, Helpings is a social enterprise and subsidiary of UMOM New Day Centers.

Every purchase goes right back into our programs and services to help UMOM clients find jobs and an affordable place to live.
