Teen Activity Program

One of the most exciting and successful programs at UMOM is our Teen Activity Program (TAP).

TAP provides free afterschool activities for all UMOM residents ages 11-17. Through educational, recreational and social activities the teens develop resiliency and improved like skills.

The Teen Activity Program includes:

Case Management for teens:  Examining their success and challenges mid-way through high school and discussing their plans for the future, UMOM can help teens and their parents through critical life decisions and plan for life after high school, and after UMOM. Program staff  assists teens find summer employment and camp options in the Valley.

Tutor Club: Teens who participate in TAP must turn in their progress reports monthly, and if necessary, attend tutor club regularly, in order to remain eligible for field trips. Last year, 75% of tutor club participants improved their grade.

Leaders in Training: Designed to give youth experience in job shadowing, student government and service learning.
