UMOM Workforce Development programs focus on working with homeless parents to prepare them for the workforce through education, job-specific training and pre-employment training such as resume-writing, interview skills, and proper attire and demeanor.
UMOM partners with Arizona Women’s Education and Employment (AWEE) and has a Job Specialist on-site working with adults on job opportunities.
The AWEE specialist assist residents to:
- Help them identify their skills
- Translate those skills into job applications and resumes
- Provide job booklets daily on campus and online
- Conduct mock interviews and guidance for success
UMOM’s Workforce Development programs include:
Employment Center: Computers are available for residents to search for and apply for jobs. Residents are encouraged to attend job workshops, interview training, and other support provided by the AWEE specialist.
