The Healthcare Career Club (HC3) was created by the UMOM Wellness Center Coordinator to provide encouragement, guidance and support to homeless and low income individuals who face challenges, desiring a healthcare career.
HC3 creates a system that supports persons to achieve education, careers, self-sufficiency and happiness. We value each individual, the family and the community. UMOM is requesting a grant to help the HC3 members fulfill their mission as they pursue education in the healthcare field.
The members of the Healthcare Career Club are current or former residents of UMOM New Day Centers, who have experienced the trauma of homelessness and are striving to reach their greatest potential. The grant funds will be used to support the mission of the HC3 club through the purchase of supplies such as textbooks, computers, scrubs/work uniforms, nursing equipment such as stethoscopes and blood pressure cuffs, scholarships for testing fees for nursing/CNA exams, communities activities related to wellness and healthcare, and fees for educational workshops.
