Walk to End Homelessness

We invite you to join us on Saturday, May 6th, 2023 from 6 am to 9 am at the Phoenix Zoo for UMOM’s 14th Annual Walk to End Homelessness - a family-friendly event aimed at restoring hope, rebuilding lives, and ending homelessness in our community.

This annual event really does put the FUN in family fundraiser.

If you’re already registered, thank you! This is the perfect time to share your donation page and story with your network to raise vital funds for emergency shelter and services that help families and single women in our community get back to a life of stability.

And, of course, you’ll also get a FREE day pass to the Phoenix Zoo for a memorable day of fun and celebration.

Expanded Shelter Options for Large Families Are Changing Lives

Thanks to the team at Maricopa County for coming to tour the recently completed renovation of Building G and documenting this wonderful story of hope shared by Karen and her family of 8.

Fun fact: folks on campus have started calling it “Building G for Grande,” because all of the rooms in this building serve large families.

Watch Their Story

Building G includes 16 fully remodeled rooms with expanded capacity to serve large families. Each of these remodeled rooms can accommodate a family of up to 9 and includes storage, dining, and casual seating.

Housing + Jobs = Ending Homelessness

Every day, our Workforce Development team helps participants at UMOM to develop skills, optimize their resumes, and find jobs that pay a livable wage.

On April 5, we hosted our first large-scale, in-person job fair of the year on campus. 75 participants attended and had the chance to meet with 10 Valley employers.

Thanks to the employers who came to UMOM to participate in the job fair, including: Circle K, Marriott, Shelters to Shutters, Allied Universal, Consumer Cellular, Kroger, Shamrock Farms, Pro-Serv, Kind Hospitality, and Arizona at Work.
