It's been a busy week at UMOM! On Tuesday we welcomed the Republic Services team to our campus for Earth Day activities, including "Touch a Truck" with the Republic Services recycling truck and more. Wednesday was our spring event with face painting, arts and crafts, and an egg-citing egg hunt! Then yesterday, we celebrated the graduation of our second Homegrown cohort of 2025 at Helpings Café. We're so grateful for the hard work of our staff and volunteers to help make this week special for our clients!

Community Spotlight: Thank You, Volunteers!

It's National Volunteer Week, and we want to take this special opportunity to give a big THANK YOU to all of our wonderful supporters who volunteer their time at UMOM. With your help, we're able to provide even more essential and supportive services to the families in our shelters.

Whether you're a long-time volunteer or looking to dip your toes into helping out at UMOM, you can find our upcoming volunteer opportunities here!

Thank you again, volunteers; we can't do what we do without you!

Coming Up: La Esperanza Terrace

La Esperanza Terrace affordable housing community, now leasing

La Esperanza Terrace, UMOM's newest affordable housing community, is opening next week on Tuesday, April 29! This community offers 96 rental units available to low-income Phoenix families, and a community with a playground, a clubhouse, and an arts and crafts center, all just across the street from an elementary school.

Homelessness is, at its core, a housing problem. Affordable housing means families can live safely, work steadily, and still have enough left over for groceries, gas, and school supplies. That's why UMOM aims to build one new affordable housing community a year. We're so grateful for the work and partnerships that have made this one possible!
