Campus News: What’s Happening at UMOM

Celebrating Building D & Courtyard Renovations

We are proud to share that we have completed renovations to another of our family shelter buildings, Building D, as well as our family shelter courtyard!

As the largest provider of family emergency shelter in Arizona, UMOM is leading a bold initiative to increase capacity, reduce wait times, and provide dignified, healing spaces for families experiencing homelessness in Maricopa County.

We would love for you to join us for an in-person, behind-the-scenes tour of our family emergency shelter to learn more about what we do and why your support is so important. Sign up for our next tour here!

UMOM in the News: Cardinals Rookie Water Drive

Special thanks to the Arizona Cardinals, who partnered with Swire Coca-Cola and SRP to distribute water bottles, generously donated by Swire Coca-Cola, and care packages at UMOM New Day Centers in June. Check out the event photos and coverage here!

Support the Bark Park

This summer, UMOM is raising funds to build a brand-new dog park at our family emergency homeless shelter to keep tails wagging and spirits high!

Thanks to a generous matching gift from The Brad and Ellen Soultz Foundation, donations are being matched dollar-for-dollar!

UMOM in the News: UMOM sets new standard for dignified, affordable housing

Our newest community, La Esperanza, is redefining what affordable housing can look like. With 96 thoughtfully designed units, it offers families a safe, beautiful place to call home.

Our CEO Jackson Fonder took the STN team on a behind-the-scenes tour, offering a deeper look at the impact of these thoughtfully designed spaces.

Our Christmas in July event was a reminder of what’s possible when the community shows up. 👏

With support from 50+ volunteers, partners like New Heights Church, AMCF, Fiesta Bowl Charities, WISE, Villa Dolce and generous donors, we gave out more than 250 backpacks, plus toys and games for families.

Thank you to everyone who helped make it happen! Want to volunteer at UMOM? Check out open opportunities here.
