Monique Lopez Named Deputy CEO of UMOM New Day Centers

Longtime nonprofit leader steps into expanded role to advance UMOM’s mission to break the cycle of homelessness across Arizona

UMOM New Day Centers proudly announces the appointment of Monique Lopez as Deputy Chief Executive Officer, a strategic leadership move that reflects her exceptional vision, deep-rooted commitment, and impact in advancing UMOM’s mission to prevent and end homelessness across Arizona. Lopez’s elevation underscores her pivotal role in shaping the organization’s future and driving meaningful solutions for the state’s most vulnerable communities.

In her new role, Lopez will support agency-wide operations, strengthen cross-departmental collaboration and lead strategic initiatives that improve outcomes for the individuals and families UMOM serves.

Lopez brings more than 20 years of nonprofit leadership experience to the position, including her most recent role as Chief Operating Officer at UMOM. She holds a Master of Science from San Jose State University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley.

In 2023, she was selected as a Virginia G. Piper Fellow, a prestigious recognition that allowed her to expand her leadership skills and explore innovative models for social impact and enterprise.

Her leadership has helped guide UMOM through periods of operational growth and innovation. Lopez’s continued dedication to staff, clients and the broader community remains a driving force behind the organization’s work to break the cycle of homelessness in Arizona.
