Summer Strong: Kids First—Double Your Impact for Children Experiencing Homelessness
UMOM joins the Rocket Community Challenge with every gift doubled up to $55,000.
This summer, UMOM is putting kids first.
From August 3 through August 28, UMOM is participating in the 2026 Rocket Community Challenge, a national fundraising campaign that helps nonprofits raise critical support for their communities.
This year's campaign theme is Summer Strong: Kids First — because children experiencing homelessness deserve safety, care, stability, and the chance to simply be kids.
And thanks to a generous matching gift opportunity, every donation made during the campaign will be doubled, dollar-for-dollar, up to $55,000.
That means your gift can have twice the impact, helping provide safe shelter, nutritious meals, healthcare, summer programming, and trauma-informed support for children and families working to rebuild their lives.
Every donation also helps UMOM compete for additional prize funding through the Rocket Community Challenge, which could unlock even more resources for the families we serve.
For many children who arrive at UMOM's Family Emergency Shelter, the months before coming here have been filled with uncertainty. Some families have been sleeping in cars, staying in hotels, or moving from place to place while waiting for shelter to become available.
That kind of instability can affect everything: a child's health, sleep, school routine, emotional well-being, and sense of safety.
At UMOM, children find more than a safe place to sleep. They find meals they can count on, caring adults, medical support, summer programming, and space to simply be kids again.
Through UMOM's onsite Children's Wellness Clinic, children and youth can access wellness visits, sick visits, support for chronic health issues, mental health care, referrals, and medications. In 2022 and 2023, the clinic provided care through more than 3,100 patient visits.
UMOM's Boys & Girls Club delivers year-round support with afterschool care, tutoring, art, sports, and more, creating a safe, encouraging environment where children learn, grow, and build confidence.
When children have access to consistent care, supportive relationships, and a stable place to call home, they can focus on what matters most: learning, growing, and thriving.
From August 3 through August 28, you can help make this a stronger summer for children and families experiencing homelessness.
Donate today to double your impact, help UMOM earn additional challenge funding, and put kids first.
